Parish / Town councils
Develop ways to help each other at a local level to help reduce the impact of an emergency on your community.
Before an emergency – considerations
Consider preparing a Community Emergency Response Plan that identifies those people who might be less able to help themselves in a crisis or who may need more assistance.
- consider the risks that may impact your community
- identify potential problems that that risk may have
- identify what resources, help your community may need to be better prepared
During and after an emergency – your involvement
Your Parish / Town Council may be involved in a number of ways, such as:
- being the first people to help
- provide support to emergency organisations
- voice community wishes in your parish / town's recovery
